Concept
The “Letter To” series is a building
collection of letters to Africa’s most important personalities. Over the course
of the series, we at SEADiaspora (SEAD) will publish written letters from
concerned citizens all over the world to Africa’s “leading lights” – its
“competent” leaders. The series hopes to highlight the genuine concerns of
Africanists everywhere in the globe, and to enable their deepest concerns to
reach those most capable of seeing to them. If a letter is published, it is so because
SEAD believes its author and the person (or group) to whom it is addressed have
much to discuss. However, we understand that the vagaries of running behemoth
governmental bureaucracies and waging coup d’états mean that the continent’s
leaders may not have the time to respond to these very personal
correspondences.
